Pumping speed is the displacement of the pump. End vacuum is absolute pressure. Oil is not included in the weights on the datasheets. Single-phase motors are available on the smaller models. The number of taps is an indicative figure for a tight tubing system at 60 Hz, about 37 taps per m³/h of pumping speed, in line with the capacities CDL publishes for pumps of similar size. The real number depends on leaks, the length of the lines and the vacuum you want to hold; ask us to size your system.
Our advantage: the oil heater
Water in the oil is what kills maple pumps
During the season the pump is often stopped, and water stays in the oil. The mix can corrupt the oil and, in time, damage the pump.
Our thermostat-controlled oil heater keeps the oil warm enough for the water to evaporate. The oil stays in good condition and the pump keeps a better vacuum, season after season.
Available on the STROV-0060 to 1200 models. An oil level switch is required for safety.

Questions from maple producers
How many taps can a vacuum pump hold?
It depends on the pumping speed and on how tight your tubing is. As a guide, we count about 37 taps per m³/h of pumping speed at 60 Hz, in line with the capacities CDL publishes for pumps of similar size. A STROV-0060 (36 m³/h) is good for about 1,300 taps, a STROV-0200 (120 m³/h) for about 4,400, and a STROV-0500 (300 m³/h) for about 11,100. Leaks, long lines and a higher vacuum target lower these numbers, so send us your layout and we size it with you.
Why does a maple vacuum pump need an oil heater?
During the season the pump is often stopped and water stays in the oil. The mix corrupts the oil and, in time, damages the pump. A thermostat-controlled oil heater keeps the oil warm enough for the water to evaporate, so the oil stays in good condition and the pump holds a better vacuum, season after season. The heater is available on the STROV-0060 to 1200 models, with an oil level switch required for safety.
