Stratovac respects your privacy and protects your personal information in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and applicable Canadian laws. This policy explains what information we collect on stratovac.ca, why, and how to exercise your rights.
1. Person in charge of personal information
Anthony Bruens, Stratovac, 1396 des Mouettes, Longueuil, Quebec J4J 5K2
abruens@stratovac.ca · +1 438-880-4655
2. Information we collect
- Quote and price list requests: name, company or sugar bush, email, phone, number of taps, producer number if given, and the technical details of your request.
- Orders: name, email, phone, delivery address, province, products ordered and order note. Card payment is processed by Helcim; Stratovac never receives or stores your full card number.
- Visit statistics: only if you accept the analytics cookie, Google Analytics collects browsing data (pages viewed, device, approximate city, where the visit came from). We also measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie.
3. How we use it
We use this information to answer your requests, prepare quotes, process and deliver orders, send confirmations and invoices, provide after-sales service, meet our tax obligations and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We share information only with the providers needed to run the site and our sales:
- Helcim (card payment);
- Cloudflare (order processing and cookieless statistics);
- Resend (sending order confirmation emails);
- Web3Forms (delivering request forms);
- GitHub Pages (site hosting);
- Google Analytics (statistics, only with your consent);
- Rackspace (our email);
- carriers, to deliver your order.
Some of these providers store data outside Quebec, including in the United States. That information is then subject to the laws of those countries. We choose providers that offer adequate protection.
5. Cookies
The site sets a Google Analytics cookie only if you click “Accept” in the banner. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set. Your choice and your language are remembered in your browser. To change your mind, clear the site’s data in your browser and the banner will appear again.
We do not install any advertising pixel (Facebook, Google Ads) on the site.
6. Retention and security
Information related to orders and invoices is kept for at least six years, as tax laws require. Requests that do not lead to an order are kept as long as needed for business follow-up, then deleted. The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and access to your information is limited to Stratovac and the providers named above.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access your information, correct it, delete it where the law allows, or withdraw your consent by writing to abruens@stratovac.ca. We reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
8. Confidentiality incidents
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.
9. Changes
We may change this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date. In case of discrepancy between the French and English versions, the French version prevails.
