Unit converter for vacuum, pressure and flow
Convert CFM to m³/h, inches of water to inches of mercury, psi, bar, mbar and more. Type a value in any box and every other unit updates.
CFM here is the actual cubic feet per minute at the conditions of the gas. SCFM and Nm³/h are mass-based flows and depend on the reference temperature and pressure, so they are not interchangeable with CFM or m³/h without a temperature and pressure correction.
Inches of water uses 4 °C water (1 inH₂O = 249.09 Pa). Inches of mercury uses 0 °C mercury (1 inHg = 3 386.39 Pa). Gauge and absolute pressure are not converted into each other here. See the vacuum tab for that.
Vacuum level in inches of mercury (inHg) is measured below atmospheric pressure: 0 inHg is atmospheric and about 29.9 inHg is a perfect vacuum at sea level. Enter your local atmospheric pressure above if you are at altitude.
Common conversions
How many m³/h is 1 CFM?
1 CFM is 1.699 m³/h. To go the other way, divide m³/h by 1.699.
How many inches of water is 1 psi?
1 psi is 27.68 inches of water (inH₂O), or 2.036 inches of mercury (inHg).
How many mbar is 1 inch of mercury?
1 inch of mercury is 33.86 mbar. One inch of water is 2.49 mbar.
What is the difference between vacuum in inHg and absolute pressure in mbar?
Vacuum in inHg is measured downward from atmospheric pressure. At sea level, 25 inHg of vacuum is about 167 mbar absolute. The vacuum tab does that conversion for you.
