These terms apply to every order placed with Stratovac, 1396 des Mouettes, Longueuil, Quebec J4J 5K2, Canada, on stratovac.ca, by email or by phone. By paying for an order, the customer accepts these terms.
1. Prices
- Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD), taxes extra.
- Prices shown include credit card processing fees. A 3% discount applies to payment by bank transfer or any method other than a credit card; contact us to get it.
- An extra discount is offered to maple producers, on request and after verification.
- Prices may change without notice. The applicable price is the one in force at the time of payment.
- If a product is shown at an obviously wrong price, Stratovac may cancel the order and refund the customer in full.
2. Taxes
GST, HST and QST are calculated according to the delivery province given by the customer and added to the payment.
3. Order and payment
Full payment is required when ordering. Online payment is made by card on the secure page of our payment processor, Helcim. Stratovac never sees or stores your full card number.
The order is confirmed by a confirmation email with the invoice, sent after the payment is approved. The customer must check the model, motor voltage and options ordered as soon as this email arrives and tell us about any error without delay.
4. Product selection
The customer is responsible for choosing the model, motor voltage and phase, and options (with or without motor, 230 V single-phase heater kit). Sizing advice, tap counts and the site’s tools are for guidance only. A pump that was chosen wrongly is not considered defective.
5. Shipping and delivery
- Prices are FOB Longueuil, Quebec. Transport to the customer’s address is not included. We send the transport quote after the order; transport is paid by the customer.
- Delivery time is 4 to 6 weeks, indicative only. It may vary with manufacturer availability and transport.
- Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer when the goods are handed to the carrier in Longueuil.
- On receipt, the customer must inspect the goods, note any visible damage on the carrier’s delivery slip, and notify us within 48 hours with photos.
6. Cancellation by Stratovac
Stratovac may cancel an order at any time if shipping costs or events beyond its control make delivery impossible, or in case of a pricing error. The customer is then refunded in full. This refund is the customer’s only remedy in that case.
7. Returns
Because products are ordered from the manufacturer for each customer, all sales are final. No returns, exchanges or refunds are accepted, except for a defective pump (section 8).
8. Defective pump
If a pump has a manufacturing defect, the customer must write to us at abruens@stratovac.ca with the order number, serial number, a description of the problem, and photos or a video. Do not take the pump apart before we reply.
After verification, Stratovac will, at its option, repair the pump, replace the defective part or pump, or refund the price paid for the defective product. A product may be returned only with our written authorization.
The following are not defects:
- normal wear (vanes, filters, seals, oil);
- damage caused by improper installation, wrong voltage or wiring, lack of oil, non-compliant oil, water or sap in the pump, or lack of maintenance;
- transport damage not noted on the delivery slip;
- a pump modified or repaired by a third party without our approval.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Stratovac’s liability is limited to the price paid for the product concerned. Stratovac is not liable for indirect damages, including loss of syrup or sap production, loss of income or labour costs.
10. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits the rights of a consumer under Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act, including the legal warranty. Those rights apply in addition to these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute falls under the courts of the judicial district of Longueuil, subject to consumers’ rights. Stratovac may change these terms; the applicable version is the one in force at the time of the order. In case of discrepancy between the French and English versions, the French version prevails.
